The Art of Paper Curling

December 10 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

What is the art of paper curling? Known as quilling, or paper filigree, this art form dates back to the 14th and 15th century and was a pastime for ladies of leisure. Simply put, strips of paper are curled and shaped to create artistic designs.
Steve Caswell, longtime Waterbury resident, has been teaching this art form for a number of years and will be leading a workshop on the art of paper curling on Monday, December 10th in the Waterbury Public Library’s SAL room from 6:30-8 pm.
Just in time for the holidays, Steve will lead participants in making a decorative snowflake or candle wreath to decorate for the season or to give as a gift. Participants will learn how to use basic quilled shapes to create beautiful designs.
There will be a $1.00 materials fee. Call 244-7036  Space is limited to 10 participants
